Blingat Ning Northern Rivers Web Designers
May 14, 2009
Well, well.. it took eighteen days for Google Search engines spiders to crawl us, it’s a brand new Social Network started by Tony Hogan and a team of budding web designers to bring together the skills of people and business in the local community of the Northern Rivers. Range from the Gold Coast, think Surfers Paradise, Jupiters Casino down to Coolangatta, jump over the boarder to Fingal Kingsclif, Cabarita, Salt Pepper, Casuarina, Pottsville, Mt Warning and Murwillumbah. This region covers a very broad area, both environmentally and business / skill wise.
As I was saying, Google spidered and cached us = included us in its search engine after two weeks of crazy optimising things which most people don’t realise are possible… but to prove a point and play digital rubics cube, I did it anyway. While most other developers are still thinking 2001 and dinosaur technology we are thinking 2011, I haven’t said 2012 because of the issues relating to the Mayan calender.
This model network will grow into one of the great success stories of Social Networking.

Help Required for 4000 Afghani Orphans
February 24, 2009
Ok, let’s get real for a minute. I received a call from my sister last night, it was out of the blue, unexpected. She had just returned from a retreat where she had met a fascinating woman, a refugee from Afghanistan who lives in Australia. The project which she has developed is to work with a number of orphans in Afghanistan, children that are victims of the war there.
Here is a link to the site Mahbobas Promise so you can get a better picture of the project.
This article is not about Web Development, it is an effort to bring an awareness about a humanitarian issue, an issue which I feel crosses borders and faiths and is more about the unity which we can find in the diversity of the brotherhood and sisterhood of man.
There are a number of Australian Schools Participating, note that they are Public, Catholic, Church of England and Moslem.
Asquith Girls High School
Cheltenham Girls High School
Macarthur Girls High School
Narrabeen High School
Newington College
Noor Al Houda Islamic College
North Sydney Girls High School
The Scots College
Caringbah High School
Strathfield Girls High School
Although there are numerous widows from the war, and projects currently being developed for them, the first priority is to get the children off the street, fed, clothed and into some organised schooling.
This project is a real one and is a signatory to the Australian Council for International Development for information on the integrity please check out ACFID
Personally, I’m not sure where to go to from here, but I ask fellow bloggers on the Blogosphere to help bring an awareness to this serious problem that we need to find a solution to.
