India Software Developers and Traffic Specialists
June 9, 2009
Every now and then I’m reminded how clever the Indian Community is at SEO and Web traffic. I have been to India a number of times and I think it’s important to let other people that have never been to India know how clever they are at the other traffic, I mean Traffic as in get in a mobile machine and risk your life on the streets.

Blingat Ning Northern Rivers Web Designers
May 14, 2009
Well, well.. it took eighteen days for Google Search engines spiders to crawl us, it’s a brand new Social Network started by Tony Hogan and a team of budding web designers to bring together the skills of people and business in the local community of the Northern Rivers. Range from the Gold Coast, think Surfers Paradise, Jupiters Casino down to Coolangatta, jump over the boarder to Fingal Kingsclif, Cabarita, Salt Pepper, Casuarina, Pottsville, Mt Warning and Murwillumbah. This region covers a very broad area, both environmentally and business / skill wise.
As I was saying, Google spidered and cached us = included us in its search engine after two weeks of crazy optimising things which most people don’t realise are possible… but to prove a point and play digital rubics cube, I did it anyway. While most other developers are still thinking 2001 and dinosaur technology we are thinking 2011, I haven’t said 2012 because of the issues relating to the Mayan calender.
This model network will grow into one of the great success stories of Social Networking.

Help Required for 4000 Afghani Orphans
February 24, 2009
Ok, let’s get real for a minute. I received a call from my sister last night, it was out of the blue, unexpected. She had just returned from a retreat where she had met a fascinating woman, a refugee from Afghanistan who lives in Australia. The project which she has developed is to work with a number of orphans in Afghanistan, children that are victims of the war there.
Here is a link to the site Mahbobas Promise so you can get a better picture of the project.
This article is not about Web Development, it is an effort to bring an awareness about a humanitarian issue, an issue which I feel crosses borders and faiths and is more about the unity which we can find in the diversity of the brotherhood and sisterhood of man.
There are a number of Australian Schools Participating, note that they are Public, Catholic, Church of England and Moslem.
Asquith Girls High School
Cheltenham Girls High School
Macarthur Girls High School
Narrabeen High School
Newington College
Noor Al Houda Islamic College
North Sydney Girls High School
The Scots College
Caringbah High School
Strathfield Girls High School
Although there are numerous widows from the war, and projects currently being developed for them, the first priority is to get the children off the street, fed, clothed and into some organised schooling.
This project is a real one and is a signatory to the Australian Council for International Development for information on the integrity please check out ACFID
Personally, I’m not sure where to go to from here, but I ask fellow bloggers on the Blogosphere to help bring an awareness to this serious problem that we need to find a solution to.

Google Chrome Comic
February 20, 2009
I was just digging around the Google Site trying to find information about a Google Chrome Error ad found something funny. I wonder how many developers out there are aware of the Google Chrome Comics created by Scott McCloud at the Official Google Chrome site. Link = Google Books Chrome
Scott has taken Nerd-dom to places where few have gone before. What also is of interest to Cartoonists is the simple format he has used. Web Developers may be interested in this The Source Code at Google Books
Here’s what they say about Scott McCloud
“Arguably the most important cartoonist alive.” — Locus Magazine
“Just about the smartest guy in comics.” – – Frank Miller
“Dean of Humanities or Human Cannonball? You decide!” — Scott Gilbert
And while doing this post I found another WordPress Bug, I will report it and post the fix when I get it.

Boy Marries Dog in India
February 18, 2009
This is not related to blogging or web development but it will hurt your brain just as much.
Oh Gosh, it’s so hard to get gour heads around other cultures sometime. It’s 27 years since I’ve been to Bhubaneswar, the capital of Orissa in Northern India, it had just finished flooding when I went there, and oddly enough when I bought my bus ticket no one bothered to tell me “Hello Mister it’s many water everywhere”. Bhubaneswar means Lord of the Universe.
Well, so the story goes, the infant boy was married to a neighbours dog to prevent the groom at a wedding being eaten by wild animals…. YEP… True.
However, I’m not sure what they are eating at the wedding feast, nor I am sure what the bride will be wearing. The bride was heard to be saying, oh good heavens, “He’s not very good looking”. Love at first bite

eWaste – How to Totally Stuff the Planet
February 16, 2009
For a few years now I’ve been pushing my wheelbarrow around (meaning = Making People Aware Of) and pointing out when possible to IT people the issue of eWaste. For the totally uninitated, that means Electronic waste…old computer parts, dead mobiles (like mine which decided to hide in the back pocket of my shorts when they went for their evening dip in the washing machine), old monitors, televisions and other sorts of outdated gadgetry.
What I’d like to do is create an article of some helpful ideas for people to deal with this issue. The Greenpeace Organisation has some very interesting articles, well that’s if interesting means horrendous and I feel like hiding under a rock. Here’s a link to the Greenpeace Website eWaste
I am surprised that so few people are familiar with this issue and so few are prepred to even act on it.
Please Note: The images in this article are used for educatioonal purposes and are the property of Greenpeace International
The Official Google Green Recharge it Blog
February 16, 2009
AHHHH GREEN TEXT ………………….WHY?
I don’t ever use green text, not even on St Patrick’s Day, but I just couldn’t miss the opportunity to use a font color which is a little irritating to some of the visually impaired, not to be annoying but to bring your attention to one of the official Google Blogs called Google Recharge it Blog.
You probably have no idea it exists, but as I’d like to point out this blog (which really means Website which is really easy to upload and change content) is a place where you’ll find out about things that are not only useful but also things a little ahead of the rest. I noticed the Google Recharge It blog only has 587 readers on feedburner as of today.
So here’s the Aptera site link APTERA , probably the most outrageous vehicle on the planet. It’s electric and Aerodynamic.
And here’s a link to the very first post on the Recharge it Blog Power On
And I guess you are aware of the Google Search engine called Blackle, it saves energy by havng a blgack background with white writing. But to be honest I have difficulty with Black BG and White Text. But if you are years behind the times and not aware of Googlé’s energy saving search engine well here it is BLACKLE.
And here are all the other Official Google Blogs Google Blog Directory
